I soaked the seeds in water, changing the water at least once a day, and the first seed germinated the second day:

I transfered the first germinated seed to hydroponics:

I put the lid on the cup (a recycled smoothies cup) to prevent evaporation of water and put the pot in front of a south facing window.

The cup is filled with water (no nutrients) up to 2 cm below the seed to ensure that it will have easy access to water while its roots grow.
